Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the Snake River High School Registration Guide (Download Here) for the 2018 – 2019 school year.

We extend a special welcome to the incoming freshman, Class of 2022!

This registration guide has been developed to help students select courses that will assist them in preparation for future careers as well as complete state and local graduation requirements. Snake River High School provides students with a wide range of opportunities including dual enrollment, virtual classes, vocational skills, agricultural, technical development, and special interest courses.

The 2018-2019 school year will be exciting at Snake River High School. We will continue on a modified six period school day (six classes with Advisory), while retaining the three trimester schedule. Snake River High School will also continue to offer students more year-long courses of study in Mathematics, U.S. Government, Science, and Professional/Career Technical Education.

Students will have the opportunity to take more interactive online customized classes via the Idaho Digital Learning Academy and BYU Independent Study (please see the page reference regarding IDLA and other online learning opportunities). The Advisory class will continue so every student has a teacher-advocate to monitor and assist them during their time here at SRHS and along their trek toward graduation.

It is important to note to parents and students that the Idaho State Legislature will continue to require all students take and pass a Civics Test in order to graduate. The test will be similar to the one given to individuals from other countries who wish to become citizens of the United States. Students will take this exam during their senior year in their social studies class.

It is important that all students work in cooperation with parents, counselors, and teachers in planning and selecting courses that will benefit them not only for this year but for future years as well. Please read the information in this registration guide (Download Here) carefully and choose the courses that best meet the needs of the student.

The 2018-2019 master class schedule will be built according to the number of students who pre-register for each class. It is extremely important that students choose classes that help prepare them for life after high school as well as classes that allow them to explore and grow their interests.

Snake River High School has an outstanding tradition of excellence in education. We encourage all students to take advantage of the many opportunities afforded them throughout their years as a student at SRHS. Opportunities both inside the classroom as well as outside the classroom will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for future successes in college, trade school, and with careers. We hope each student will take advantage of the opportunities through Academics, Activities, Agriculture, the Arts, and Athletics while they are a student at SRHS.

Best wishes for a successful and memorable Snake River High School Panther experience.

Sincerely,

Ray Carter, Principal
Snake River High School
