2025 - 2026 Snake River High School Winter Youth Basketball League

Cost :

$50.00

Grades:

Two Divisions

3rd and 4th Grade

5th and 6th Grade

If we have 24 or more girls sign up in each of the two divisions then we will have a boys and girls league. If we don’t then the girls will be mixed with the boys.

Week #5 Saturday February 7

Week #6 Saturday February 14

Officials:

All games will be officiated by Snake River High School basketball players and coaches.

Sign-ups will be held:

Monday, December 8, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Wednesday, December 10, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Monday, December 15 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

If you would like to be a volunteer coach, you can sign-up during registration.

Team Selections: (Coaches Only) Tuesday December 16. SRHS Room 119

3rd + 4th grade girls: 6:30PM 3rd + 4th grade boys: 7:00PM

5th + 6th grade girls: 7:30PM 5th + 6th grade boys: 8:00PM

All head coaches and their one assistant coach can secure their son or daughter on their

team. All brothers and sisters living in the same household will be on the same team.

ALL OTHER PLAYERS WILL BE IN THE DRAFT. NO EXCEPTIONS.

WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY LATE REGISTRATION AFTER THE

DRAFT.

Coaches are required to play all members of their team in both the first and second

halves but do not have to play them the same amount of time. This does not apply

to players who do not make it to practice. Coaches will have at least one practice

every week that we have a game. The high school gym is scheduled for your practice on

the following dates or you can find your own gym and time to practice.

WE WILL NOT BE CHANGING ANY GAME DATES OR TIMES UNLESS THE DIRECTOR FEELS WE HAVE AN UNFORESEEN PROBLEM OR CONFLICT.

Friday nights in the fall mean one thing in our community: football under the lights. But this season, the excitement stretches beyond the field. Snake River High School has been chosen to participate in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights program , which highlights schools across the country with enhanced coverage, community engagement, and national recognition.

This program isn’t just about football - it’s about celebrating everything that makes our school and community special. Each Friday night game is an opportunity to showcase our student-athletes, coaches, cheerleaders, marching band, and fans. It also gives us a chance to tell the story of Snake River pride to a wider audience, both here at home and online.

Why This Matters

Friday Night 5G Lights puts Snake River on the map. Our participation means national exposure for our athletes and programs, recognition for our school spirit, and a spotlight on the strength of our community. It’s also a reminder that the traditions we’ve built - hard work, teamwork, pride, and resilience - are worth celebrating far beyond our district.

High School Back to School Information

Dear Parents and Students of Snake River High School:

Greetings and Welcome Back to the 2025-2026 school year; a special welcome to the Freshmen Class who will be graduating in 2029. A couple of items that I would like to bring to your attention for this year.

HS Counselors and Administration : The counselors will be back in the HS Counseling Office beginning Wednesday July 30 ^th . They can assist students with incomplete scheduling for the upcoming year. Erica Marshall will have Freshmen and Juniors; Brian Goff will assist the Sophomores and Seniors.

First Week of School Schedule:

· Back to School Day/Night will be on Thursday, August 7 ^th beginning at 1pm and ending at 7pm . Incoming Freshmen and new students will be able to pick up their Chromebooks during that time. Parents and Students will also be able to tour the building and visit with teachers about classes, curriculum and other points of interest that they will want. Dual Credit representatives from the College of Southern Idaho will be here at that time to assist students and answer questions regarding DE and availability of AA Degrees.

· Southeast Idaho Health Department will be doing an immunization clinic from 1-7pm at SRJH and at the HS from 2-6pm.

· The First Day of School will be on Tuesday, August 12 ^th . The schedule will go as follow:

SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY—FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR ALL STUDENTS

· 7:45—Freshmen arrive.

· 8:00am-- All Freshmen Students will meet in the Auditorium for Freshmen Orientation/Freshmen Class Meeting.

· @9:15-- All Freshmen will go to the Parking Lot behind the Auditorium for a Pancake Breakfast-- hosted by Executive Council and the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. Students who have not picked up their schedules yet- will also receive their schedules at that time. Students may eat outside or in the Cafeteria.

· 10:30-11:15 am—All Students (9 ^th thru 12 ^th ) will report to Gym for the Opening Assembly.

· 11:55—12:25—2 ^nd Period (30 min)

· 12:25—1:10—LUNCH (45 min)

· 1:15—1:45—3 ^rd Period (30 min)

· 1:50—2:20—4 ^th Period Advisory (30 min)

· 2:25—2:55—5 ^th Period (30 min)

· 3:00—3:30—6 ^th Period (30 min)

· 3:35—4:05—7 ^th Period (30 min)

PATRON AND STUDENT PARKING NOTICE: As a reminder, parents will be required to drop off/pickup students in the new “Drop Off and Pick Up Lane” down by the walkway up to the Bus Island. No drop offs or pickups of students will be allowed at the front of the HS building due to student safety. This area is very well marked and Office Lusk and Officer Humphreys will assist students and parents during the first weeks of school. Also--Students WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to access Student Parking areas from the top lane by the HS office. They will access those areas only from the lower lot and from the entrance/exit road on the visitor bleacher side coming in from 900 west. Parents are allowed to park in the area in front of the HS office when visiting the school.

STUDENT ATTENDANCE: Snake River High School and Snake River School District very much need each student’s/parent’s assistance with attendance this year. Due to the Idaho State Department of Education and the Idaho State Legislature’s mandates regarding attendance, we need each student in school as much as possible. When scheduling family vacations and other days when students may not be in school, please attempt to schedule appointments and vacations during Harvest Break, Spring Break, Thanksgiving Break, and Christmas Break if possible. Our funding from the SDE is based upon students being in school face-to-face with teachers and other classmates. Students learn more when they are in school. The 2024-2025 district schedule can be found at snakeriver.org.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT: Snake River HS has many activities and sports for all students. Many studies have found that student grades are better when the student is involved in activities and sports. Fall sports include: cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball. Winter sports include: basketball, and wrestling. Spring sports include: baseball, softball, track and field, and golf. Other activities that students can be involved in are: cheerleading, dance, skeet/shotgun shooting club, choir, jazz band, marching band, orchestra, drama, student leadership, executive council, honor society, speech and debate, FFA, BPA, HOSA, and FCCLA. There is something for each student here at SRHS—please encourage your student to participate.

Open House and First Day

A district wide open house will be on Thursday, August 7th from 1pm-7pm. Come and pay your fees, get to your school and meet your teachers!

The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 12th .

Technology Annual Agreement Info / RUP and 1:1 Forms

Just as a reminder... To use district technology, all Students and a Parent/Guardian must each read and sign a Responsible Use Policy (RUP) form each year.

Students who wish to participate may be assigned a Chromebook for use at school and home. Students must also read and sign the 1:1 initiative form agreeing to the terms, usage, and care of the assigned Chromebook Device. This is in addition to the RUP for students.
